Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe bananas mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 2 tablespoons milk or plain yogurt optional
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips optional

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9 × 5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix just until combined.
  6. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55–70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes.
  10. Transfer it to a wire rack, allow it to cool further, and slice before serving.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture.
  • Avoid overmixing the batter.
  • Baking times vary by oven and pan size.
  • If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover it with foil.
  • Allow the loaf to cool before slicing for the best texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
